Moving and Handling of People & Objects provides learners with an extensive Moving & Handling skill set so that they can identify how to safely move people, objects and safely use equipment.
On completing this course learners will have the knowledge, understanding and skills required to be able to safely Move and Handle People & Objects in their healthcare workplace.

Accreditation

This course has been accredited by the CPD Accreditation Group and is aligned to the Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Assessment Methods

This course is internally assessed with an Arjo Hoist and equipment. Each learner is required to participate and demonstrate practical activities throughout the course and complete a knowledge test at the end of the course.

Learning Outcomes:

Be able to define the term Manual Handling

Identify how to carry out a Risk Assessment and reduce the risk of injury prior to undertaking manual handling tasks

Be aware of the types of equipment, and testing requirements for lifting equipment associated with moving & handling of people safely.

Be able to demonstrate safe moving & handling of people techniques (Practical Training)

Understand employers and employees responsibilities, legal obligations under relevant national Health & Safety legislation, the Manual Handling Operation Regulations and local policies and procedures.

Understand the Principles of good back care and the consequences of poor manual handling practice

Understand the principles of safer moving & handling

Certification – On successful completion of the course, attendees will be issued with an accredited certificate.
