This training course is based on the compliance requirements placed on the organisation by the Health & Safety at Work (Etc.) Act of 1974; Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations; The Assessment & Management of Falls in Older People produced by NICE June 2013; and requirements placed on employers by industry standards.

Course Description:
This training course is based on the compliance requirements placed on the organisation by the Food Safety Act of 1990, a variety of food safety / hygiene regulations including those introduced in 2006, and the Food Information for Consumers Regulation. The requirements placed on the organisation by the above requirements, CQC and the Care Certificate were used as reference points.

- Assist with meeting the nutrition and fluid need of individuals they care for.
- Understand the principles of hydration, nutrition and food safety
- Support individuals to have access to fluids in accordance with their care plan

This training course is based on the compliance requirements placed on the organisation by Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Legislation. This includes the Equality Act 2010 was introduced to give a systematic approach to the complicated and numerous Acts and Regulations, which formed the basis of anti-discrimination law in Great Britain. This was, primarily, the Equal Pay Act 1970, the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, the Race Relations Act 1976, the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and three major statutory instruments protecting discrimination in employment on grounds of religion or belief, sexual orientation and age. Diabetes Awareness Level 2

Course Description:
The National Institute for Health & Care Excellence (NICE) Guidelines on diabetes state that in 2013, over 3.2 million adults were diagnosed with diabetes, with prevalence rates of 6% and 6.7% in England and Wales, respectively. It is estimated that about 90% of adults currently diagnosed with diabetes have type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is more common in people of African, African‑Caribbean and South Asian family origin. It can occur in all age groups and is increasingly being diagnosed in children.
